This is the season for Christmas parties in schools again before the holiday break. Being able to be present on one makes me realize how time flies by so fast. Before, we are the kids enjoying the games, prices, food and gifts. Now it’s the next generation who seems to have changed a lot eversince we grow up.
Kids nowadays tend to be more distracted. They can’t focus or maybe it’s quite normal for them to be excited about everything. But in my opinion, they are the extreme version of the people who was born on the 80’s. Not to mention the fact that we were obedient during our childhood days.
Now that you are a parent, you need to learn when to interfere and when to just let them be. This is one of the toughest lessons in life. Parenthood is such an ongoing training. You have to observe other parents as well and try it yourself. If it doesn’t work for you, try another method once again until you find something that works.
At the end of the day, we are all kids at heart. What’s important is your relationship with your children. If you can’t be a perfect parent, that’s normal. Kids don’t need that. They need you to be there for them and give them unconditional love. Just enjoy the season and be one of the kids and play games with them. After all, this holidays is about the family.
